How to install a cs 1.6 player config

1. Extract the downloaded ZIP – you get 20 archives
2. Extract the archive of the config you want, for example markeloff.rar
3. If the file inside is named config.cfg, rename it first (for example to markeloff.cfg) so it does not overwrite your own config
4. Copy the .cfg file into your cstrike folder:
   • Steam: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Half-Life\cstrike
   • Non-Steam: right-click your CS 1.6 shortcut → Properties → the Target field shows the install folder → open cstrike
5. Start CS 1.6, open the console with ~ and type the file name:

exec markeloff.cfg

The settings apply instantly. To try another pro config, run exec with that file name.

Load a cs 1.6 config automatically on startup

CS 1.6 rewrites config.cfg every time you change settings in the game menu, so do not keep your changes there. Open cstrike\userconfig.cfg (create it if it does not exist) and add one line:

exec markeloff.cfg

The chosen config now loads every time the game starts.
