Fix CS 1.6 Can’t Drop Bomb – Bomb Drop Not Working

In counter-strike 1.6 the bomb can only be dropped under specific conditions. CS 1.6 can’t drop bomb happens when the drop bind cs 1.6 is wrong, the server has disabled bomb dropping, or you are not in a state where dropping is allowed. CS 1.6 bomb drop bind fix – G key not working

The default key to drop the bomb in CS 1.6 is G. If pressing G does nothing, the drop bind has been overwritten by a config. Open console with ~ and restore it:

bind "G" "drop"

Add to cstrike/userconfig.cfg to make permanent. To confirm the bind is correct, type bind "G" in console – it should output drop. If it shows something else, a config has overwritten it.

You can also bind drop to a different key if G is inconvenient:

bind "F" "drop"

Server has disabled CS 1.6 bomb drop

Some servers disable bomb dropping via AMXX plugin. This is common on zombie servers, deathmatch servers, and some custom game mode servers where the bomb mechanic is modified. If you cannot drop the bomb on a specific server but can on others, the server has disabled it – this cannot be bypassed client-side.

To confirm: join an offline game with map de_dust2 in console, pick up the bomb as Terrorist and press G. If drop works offline but not on the server, the server has restricted it.

When you cannot drop the bomb by design

CS 1.6 has built-in rules that prevent bomb dropping in certain situations – these are not bugs:

Occasionally after a network desync the bomb appears in your inventory but cannot be dropped or used. This resolves itself at the next round start. If it happens frequently, it is caused by packet loss – fix your network connection first:
