CS 1.6 CFG Online Generator – Counter-Strike 1.6 CFG Maker
Last updated: August 2, 2026
Counter-Strike 1.6 player cfg generator – an online tool that creates a ready-to-use cs 1.6 config file directly in your browser. No software to download, no manual editing. Fill in your settings, click Generate, and get a complete .cfg file covering crosshair, mouse sensitivity, network rates, FPS cap, graphics and audio – all in one place.
This cs 1.6 cfg online generator works for both Steam and Non-Steam versions of Counter-Strike 1.6. Without a custom counter-strike 1.6 cfg, settings either reset between sessions or stay at defaults which are rarely optimal for competitive play. If you don’t have the game yet, download Counter-Strike 1.6 from csdownload.net first.

Crosshair Settings
The crosshair section controls how your cs 1.6 crosshair looks and behaves during gameplay. Every setting here directly affects aiming precision.
| Setting | Command | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Mouse Sensitivity | sensitivity |
Controls how fast your crosshair moves with the mouse. Lower values give more precision, higher values faster turns |
| Crosshair Color | cl_crosshair_color |
Color of your crosshair – green, red, yellow, white, cyan. Pick what stands out best on the maps you play |
| Crosshair Size | cl_crosshair_size |
Small, medium or large – smaller crosshairs give more precise aiming reference |
| Dynamic Crosshair | cl_dynamiccrosshair |
When enabled the crosshair expands while moving or shooting. Most competitive players disable this for a static crosshair |
| Translucent Crosshair | cl_crosshair_translucent |
Makes the crosshair semi-transparent. Disable for a solid, always-visible crosshair |
Player Screen Settings
Controls the cs 1.6 HUD, radar, weapon position and FPS cap – everything that affects how the game looks on screen during play.
| Setting | Command | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Graphical Menus | setinfo _vgui_menus |
Enables or disables the graphical buy menu. Disabling it uses the old text-based menu which some players find faster |
| Radar Type | cl_radartype |
Solid or transparent radar background. Transparent lets you see the map underneath |
| Weapon Right-Hand | cl_righthand |
Weapon on right or left side of screen. Right-hand is default |
| Maximum FPS | fps_max |
Caps frame rate. 100 or 101 is standard for counter-strike 1.6 – uncapped FPS can cause physics issues |
| Centered Player Info | hud_centerid |
Shows player name in the center of screen when you look at them instead of the corner |
| Fast Weapon Switch | hud_fastswitch |
Switch weapons with a single key press without the selection menu appearing |
Connection Settings – cs 1.6 netsettings
These settings control how your cs 1.6 client communicates with the server. Correct counter-strike 1.6 netsettings reduce choke, improve hit registration and make movement feel responsive. Wrong values cause lag even on a good internet connection.
| Setting | Command | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Allow Download from Server | cl_allowdownload |
Allows the server to send custom content (maps, sounds, sprays) when you connect |
| Command Rate | cl_cmdrate |
How many command packets your client sends to the server per second. Standard value is 101 |
| Update Rate | cl_updaterate |
How many update packets you receive from the server per second. Standard value is 101 |
| Interpolation | ex_interp |
Always set to 1/cl_updaterate. For updaterate 101 the correct value is 0.01 |
| Lag Compensation | cl_lagcompensation |
Server rolls back hit detection to account for your ping. Keep this enabled for accurate shots |
Additional Network Settings
| Setting | Command | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Rate | rate |
Maximum bandwidth from server to client in bytes/sec. Use 25000 for standard servers, 100000 for modern ReHLDS servers |
| Max Packets | cl_maxpackets |
Maximum packets sent per frame. Keep at default unless you have specific server requirements |
| Packet Optimization | cl_predict |
Client-side prediction – predicts your movement locally to compensate for ping. Keep enabled |
Graphics Settings
These settings control rendering quality and visual effects in Counter-Strike 1.6. Lowering them increases FPS on older hardware.
| Setting | Command | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Vertical Sync | gl_vsync |
Synchronizes FPS to monitor refresh rate. Disable for better performance and lower input lag |
| Texture Quality | gl_picmip |
0 = highest quality, 2 = lowest. Lower values increase FPS but make textures blurry |
| Weapon Bobbing | cl_bob |
Controls how much the weapon moves while walking. Set to 0 to disable for a steadier view |
| Weather Effects | cl_weather |
Rain, snow and other weather effects on maps that support them. Disable for better FPS |
Mouse Settings
| Setting | Command | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Smooth Mouse Movement | m_filter |
Averages mouse input over two frames to smooth movement. Most competitive players disable this for raw, immediate response |
| Mouse Acceleration | m_customaccel |
Enables custom mouse acceleration. Most players disable this for consistent aim regardless of movement speed |
| Acceleration Factor | m_customaccel_factor |
Strength of mouse acceleration when enabled. Only relevant if m_customaccel is on |
| Acceleration Threshold | m_customaccel_max |
Maximum acceleration cap. Limits how fast acceleration can scale |
Audio Settings
| Setting | Command | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Volume | volume |
Master game volume from 0 (mute) to 1 (maximum) |
| Music | sv_allsound |
Enable or disable background music in menus |
| 3D Sound | cl_3d_sound |
Enables 3D positional audio for better directional hearing of footsteps and gunfire |
